UP, UP AND AWAY 5 K, FINDLAY, OHIO

The Findlay Striders will host the 11th, Up and Away 5K at 8am, Saturday, August 10th, held during the city's Flag City Balloon Fest at Emory Adams Park on Sixth Street. Registration is from 6:45-7:45. Pre-registration is available at Dave's Running Shop in Findlay until Thursday, August 8th. Preregistered cost is $25. Race day is $30. Pre-registered runners may pick up packets at North West Ohio Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, corner of US 224 and CR 236 7am-5pm, Friday, August 9th. Packets may also be picked up on race day until 7:45am.

The Wood County Historical Center is pleased to host the Smithsonian traveling exhibit "Journey Stories", August 10th through September 15th at the Wood County Historical Museum, 13660 County Home Road in Bowling Green. 6TH ANNUAL TIFFIN ART FAIR

Tiffin Art Fair will be held on Saturday, August 10th in downtown Tiffin a the Courthouse Square on the corner of S. Washington and E. Market St. Hours for the event will be 10am-5pm. Artists and craftspeople will be displaying quality and unique handmade creations. Refreshements, activities for children, A Peoples Choice Award. live music, artist demonstrations and silent auction to benefit Tiffin Art Guild.

TREES FOR TOTS at Litzenberg Memorial Woods

Join us on August 10th from 10am to noon on a guided quest to discover as many shapes, sizes, textures of leaves and bark as possible. Help your children use their senses to identify the various trees of Litzenberg Memorial Woods. Program is recommended for children, ages 3-6, with an adult companion. After the hike, make a tree leaf collage with your tot from leaves collected to create a keepsake of your day together. Families can check in at the Picnic Shelter, located at Litzenberg Memorial Woods, located at 6100 US Route #224, west of Findlay. No registration necessary. PERSEID METEOR SHOWER, Riverbend, Findlay

Come learn more about the Perseid Meteor Shower at the Millstream Astronomy Club's program on Saturday, August 10th. Meet at 9pm at the Shelter #5 in Riverbend Recreation Area. Millstream Astronomy Club President, Steve Rice will be focusing on the shower which occurs on August 12th. The shower should be a good one this year as the fat crescent moon sets before the meteor shower really gets going. They will also be looking at Venus, Saturn, and other wonders of the night sky. Riverbend Recreation Area is located off SR 568, East of Findlay at 16618 TR 208, Findlay, Ohio 45840.
