DOG SHELTER VOLUNTEER EVENT   WOOD COUNTY COMMISSIONERS One Courthouse Square, Bowling Green, Ohio 43402 To commemorate the one year anniversary of the Volunteer Program at the Wood County Dog Shelter, the Wood County Commissioners, James Carter, Doris Herringshaw, and Joel Kuhlman are pleased to announce an event to recognize the volunteers assisting at the Shelter. The event will be held on April 29 at the Wood County Dog Shelter from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm. Members of the public and shelter volunteers are invited to attend. The volunteer program was started on April 1, 2013, and has since grown to over 50 volunteers who have contributed more than 600 volunteer hours. The program is designed to increase community involvement with the shelter, and promote responsible pet ownership. Volunteer opportunities include walking dogs, taking photos of dogs to post on Petfinder and Facebook pages; developing personality profiles and circulating weekly adoption flyers; bathing and providing basic grooming; and assisting with Shelter cleaning.
