Spring Disc Golf Tournament, HPD, Findlay

The Disc Golf Community Association will be hosting a Spring Disc Golf tournament at Riverbend Recreation Area on Saturday, May 10, at 10am. This disc tournament is for new to experienced players, including a ladies division, that are invited to play in two rounds of 18-hole disc golf. Prizes include cash and awards. Unique scoring rules and course changes will add some flair to the event. There is an optional Ace Pool to win a cash prize for a hole-in-one. The entry fee is $20. CIVIL WAR CAMP AT HAYES CENTER, FREMONT

Spend a day in a Civil War camp at the Hayes Presidential Center\r\n \r\nFREMONT – Spend an afternoon in a Civil War camp training with soldiers on Saturday, May 10 as the Hayes Presidential Center presents the second session of its new Second Saturdays R 4 Kids series. The event runs from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., however families are invited to “stay as long as you can.” You are not obliged to stay for the entire four-hours. Major sponsorship for the nine-part series is provided by Heinz North America.\r\n\r\nThe theme for the day is “Life in a Civil War Camp” and features costumed Civil War reenactors stationed at a miniature encampment located outside the Hayes Museum. Participants can join the soldiers in marching and cannon drills (weather permitting), then head inside to create their own regimental flags.\r\n\r\nCost to participate in Second Saturdays R 4 Kids is $1/child and $7.50/adult. The price includes admission to the Hayes Museum where the new Johnson’s Island exhibit Privy to History: Civil War Prison Life Unearthed is on display. Those with Hayes Presidential Center memberships at the $50 or more level can attend Second Saturdays FREE. The journals are a continuing part of Second Saturdays. At each session, new entries are written and at the series’ conclusion participants have a remembrance to take home. Riverdale Soundsation Cabaret

Riverdale Soundsation, the competition show choir from Riverdale High School, will be presenting their end-of-the-year performance at the Russell E. Willeke Auditorium in the Central Office Building at the Riverdale Local Schools Campus on May 9th and 10th at 7 pm. Tickets will be sold at the door for $6.00 for all adults and $4.00 for all students/senior citizens. Students will be performing individual and group acts, along with their award-winning competition show and a brand-new Cabaret show.
