FOSTORIA CLEAN UP DAY

From 9:00AM to 1:00PM

If you are interested in volunteering please contact the Mayor's office at 419-435-8282. Gloves, Bags, and T shirts wil be provided--Hot dogs, snacks, and Beverages will be available for all volunteers. Groups will be assigned to different neighborhoods to help clean up. They will walk around and pick up trash and recyclable goods. This is a small way to make a great impact!

ZONTA LANDINGS BOAT RENTALS, HPD, FINDLAY

From 1:00PM to 7:00PM

ZONTA LANDINGS BOAT RENTALS OPEN MAY 24 THROUGH LABOR DAY Zonta Landing is a public boat livery concession that provides rentals of canoes, kayaks, and pedal boats at Riverside Park. Rentals are taken first come, first served. Canoes and kayaks may also be taken, by the renter, to other bodies of water within Hancock County with an advanced reservation through the HPD office. Equipment rates for canoes, kayaks, and pedal boats are $5 per ½ hour. The rental fee for an entire day is $25. Group outings with 6 or more watercrafts are discounted at the rate of $20 per day. All rates include life jackets, paddles, and sales tax. HPD boat livery operation is open from 1-7pm, weekends and holidays, beginning Saturday, May 24 through Monday, September 1 during good weather conditions. Last launch time for 1 hour rentals is 6pm and last launch time for ½ hour rentals is 6:30pm. Contact the HPD office for special arrangements on watercraft rentals. Periods of high water or hazardous weather could close the concession at the discretion of the HPD staff. SATURN, HPD, FINDLAY

Kevin Smith, of the Millstream Astronomy Club, will be presenting an evening focused on our ringed planet, Saturn. Meet Kevin at Shelter 5 located at the Riverbend Recreation Area, at 9pm, on Saturday, May 24. He will cover facts about the planet as well as discuss some of the probes and satellites that we have sent to study it. Since Saturn is at opposition on May 10, he will cover what opposition is and why it is important to our fellow sky enthusiasts. If the sky cooperates there will be great views of the planet as well. Public viewing will be permitted after the program if conditions are favorable. Riverbend Recreation Area is located off SR 568, east of Findlay, at 16618 TR 208.
