YOGA IN THE PARK, HPD, FINDLAY

FREE SUMMER YOGA SERIES OFFERED IN THE PARKS Join Open Circle Yoga and Wellness Center for a free one hour yoga class in the beauty of nature on Saturday, September 6, starting at 9am at the Waterfalls Pavilion in Riverside Park. All skill levels are welcome, with no experience necessary. Please dress for comfort and bring water, a yoga mat or towel. If there is inclement weather, the program will be cancelled. FALL DISC GOLF, FINDLAY

Fall Disc Golf Tournament Test your competitive disc golf skills by the light of the moon at this day/night tournament presented by the Findlay area Disc Golf Community Association. Head out to Riverbend Recreation Area on Saturday, September 6 and meet in shelter 3. Two single rounds of disc golf will be played and round 2 will take place after dark with glow sticks lighting baskets and discs along the course. There will be prizes awarded for getting closest to the pin in each division. The entry fee is $20 and onsite registration begins at 2:30pm. ST. JOHN'S UCC CHICKEN BBQ, FOSTORIA

St. John's is holding their annual chicken barbecue on Saturrday, Sept. 6th 4:30-6:30 at the church location on St. Rte. 587 south of Fostoria. The menu includes 1/4 and 1/2 BBQ Chicken, Chicken and Roast Beef Sandwiches, Baked Beans, Potato Salad, Chicken Noodle soup and Home made pies. We are handicap accessable. The women's guild will also have a bazaar.

The Wood County Historical Museum is pleased to host a nationally-recognized photography exhibit by Christopher Payne called Asylum: "Inside the Closed World of State Mental Hospitals". The exhibit and companion book will be in the new gallery space at the Wood County Historical Museum May 31 - November 16, 2014. An opening reception is planned for Friday, May 30, from 6-8pm, with Payne's remarks and book signing. This event is free and open to the public.

Ohio’s Greatest Astronomer, HPD, FINDLAY

Dave Ferguson, of the Millstream Astronomy club will share information about Ohio's Greatest Astronomer. Join him on Saturday, September 6 at 8pm in shelter 5 at Riverbend Recreation, to hear a story about a Hancock County boy who made it big in the world of astronomy. There will be stargazing of many celestial objects including Saturn, following the presentation. Riverbend Recreation Area is located off SR 568, east of Findlay, at 16618 TR 208.
