The Tiffin University Equestrian team will be hosting its sixth annual Poker Run Trail Ride at the Garlo Park Nature Preserve on Sunday, September 21st, 2014. The annual event is a combination event which raises money for the park itself, as well as the team. The ride takes about one to two hours to complete, and after each rider collects their poker hand there are awards to the best youth and adult poker hand at the event. There are also many raffle baskets that participants can bid for, all kindly donated by local tack shops. There will also be a small concession on site where participants can purchase drinks and food. The Wood County Historical Museum is pleased to host a nationally-recognized photography exhibit by Christopher Payne called Asylum: "Inside the Closed World of State Mental Hospitals". The exhibit and companion book will be in the new gallery space at the Wood County Historical Museum May 31 - November 16, 2014. An opening reception is planned for Friday, May 30, from 6-8pm, with Payne's remarks and book signing. This event is free and open to the public.
