Ritz Teen Thespian Guild presents I Never Saw Another Butterfly Tuesday, April 14, 2015 - 10:00 AM Playwright Raspanti has extracted a beautiful and moving one-act play based on the writings created in a concentration camp by the Jewish children. From 1942 to 1945 over 15,000 children passed through Terezin on their way to the gas chambers. For most of the children whose poems, journals, letters and drawings appear in the play, their biographies end with “perished at Auschwitz…” But one survivor, Raja, taught the children when there was nothing to teach with and gave them hope when there was little reason for hope. This play is her story and a history lesson showing the very best and the very worst of which the human heart is capable. I Never Saw Another Butterfly is presented by the Ritz Teen Thespian Guild, a group of young performers from areas schools dedicated to exploring theatre beyond the high school musical. This production will also be touring Tiffin and Seneca County and is available for church and civic organizations.
