Included in the tour are gardens outside of the Tiffin city limits, including one in Melmore and others in the countryside, as well as those in town. Among the featured gardens are cottage gardens, whimsical fairy gardens, a hillside rock garden, perennial beds, and vegetable and herb gardens. One location is park-like and another is a serenity garden affiliated with a church. Several of the gardeners are qualified master gardeners. Tickets are now available at Tiffin Ace Hardware, 1550 West Market St. or on the day of the tour at The Grammes-Brown House, 172 Jefferson St., Tiffin. The ticket donation is $10.00 per person and includes a map of the garden locations. Children under 10 years are free. Bring family and friends and be inspired! Proceeds benefit The Tiffin Historic Trust, a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of architectural preservation in Tiffin through educational programming, tours, publications, and community initiatives. For more information, phone Jackie at (419-618-9728). Tour stops include: Grammes-Brown House - 172 Jefferson Street Behind the Tiffin Historic Trust’s Victorian Grammes-Brown House is an informal, cottage garden tended entirely by volunteers. There is an ancient pear tree as well as many varieties of shrubs, perennials and even small herb and vegetable gardens. It is easy to imagine a time when gardens were a place of solace, relaxation, and charm. Herb and Paula Crum - 176 Jefferson Street In a relatively small area, Herb and Paula Crum have designed and created a garden brimming over with flowers, blue accents, beautiful fences and walkways, water and rock features, a fairy garden, urns with a wonderful and stunning array of unique flowers, shrubs, and more! Herb has taken the time to hand brush the wrought iron fence and Paula has added her own stained glass and other creations.
