Harvest the Past, HPD, FINDLAY

From 1:00PM to 5:00PM

Bring the family out to the Hancock Park District’s annual fall event, Harvest the Past. Refreshments and music provided by Bob Ford will be in the Activity Barn. The 1847 McKinnis House and Workshop will be open with costume interpreters to welcome you and tell you about life back in the 1840s. Don’t’ miss out on the historic farmer’s market where leftover vegetables, fruit and herbs from the McKinnis garden and orchard will be available to take home for a donation. George and Missy Frey will have their team of horses on hand for horse-drawn hayrides around the meadow. Walking Dog Forge will be giving live demonstrations on the art of blacksmithing. The artesian tent will have local beekeeper Dwight Wilson, Ann Boyd of My Own Backyard with herbs and dried flowers, Ohio Colonial Soap Company with its soap and brooms, wood carving demonstrations from members of the Millstream Wood Carvers Club, and Carol Geiger with her jellies and jams, to name a few. Items will be for sale under the artesian tent as well. Stew will be cooking in the big copper pot over the open fire and there will be plenty of activities for the kids like slings, tin punch, corn husk dolls, and apple bobbing. Harvest the Past will be on Sunday, October 18 from 1-5 PM at Litzenberg Memorial Woods. Registration is not required for this free event. Litzenberg Memorial Woods is located at 6100 US RT 224, west of Findlay. OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD, PERRYSBURG, OH

Operation Christmas Child is presenting An Amazing Story on October 18 at 6:30 pm doors open at 5:30 pm. A Christian musical presentation by National and International know Alanna Story will preform as well as Jaki Steward will give her story as to how she received her Operation Christmas Child Shoe box at the age of five. A Free-will offering will be collected and there will be some door prize drawing at at the end of the evening. A concession will be avaiable along with displays of Operation Christmas Child. There will be representatives present to answer any questions that people may wish to ask. This event will be October 18, 2015 at 6:30 pm Grace United Methodist Church 601 East Boundary St. Perrysburg Ohio.

The Findlay Antique Bottle Club is pleased to announce that our 39th Annual Bottle Show & Sale will be held in a new location, The Sterling Center in Findlay, Ohio. Mark your calendars now for Sunday October 18, 2015 for a great day of shopping, free appraisals, learning more about your collections, making new friends and visiting with other folks who "speak bottle-ese". There will be approx. 75+ sales tables full of antique bottles of all kinds. MILK, BEER, SODA POP, INK, PERFUME, MEDICINE, POISON, WHISKEY, PLUS FRUIT JARS, INSULATORS, AND ADVERTISING -- AND OTHER ANTIQUES!
